Celebrating 25 years of Houston’s Support

The Houston Chapter is very pleased to be celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year and is particularly grateful to the Houston area RMEF members who have supported the program so generously over the years.  The Houston Chapter ranks among the top ten chapters in the nation for its support of the mission.  We congratulate the local membership for its loyal support and take pride in the fact that the Houston area by the end of 2012 will have contributed more than $2,000,000 in net revenue to the cause of wildlife conservation.  These funds have helped the RMEF to protect or enhance vast tracts of land, reintroduce elk to historic ranges, and assure future generations of the opportunity to appreciate the most noble of North America’s big game species.  To learn more about the RMEF organization and its accomplishments click on the following link:  RMEF National

Efficiently Applying the Funds to Meaningful Work

Not only has RMEF contributed significant financial clout to its conservation mission, it has done so in a very efficient and effect manner maximizing the conversion of member donations into meaningful work on the ground.  Only 21% of American charities have attained the Charity Navigator’s coveted 4 star rating for two or more consecutive years.  This achievement denotes RMEF’s exceptional ability to manage and grow finances while holding down operational overheads so the funds can be focused on the mission.  To learn more about the various ways you can help promote the RMEF mission click on the following link: Donations.

Honoring an Old Friend

We were proud to present long time RMEF Houston Chapter Committee Member, Past Chair, Generous Donor, and FFL Registrar Harold and Rae Harborth with a Habitat Partnership plaque funded by Committee Members and local members.  Johnnie Cooper made the presentation.
